Polaris Office and weraser Sign MOU for AI Automation of Shipping Logistics Documents
Update 2024.04.18

Polaris Office announced on the 18th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with weraser to innovate international shipping logistics documents using artificial intelligence (AI).
weraser is a company that operates 'WiseConvey', an automation platform that applies vision AI and large language models (LLM).
The process involves capturing documents sent by Company A with a camera, which are then read by vision AI. The information is then classified and rewritten using LLM. Subsequently, new documents are created to fit Company B's format or platform.
Recognizing its technological prowess, weraser was selected as one of 14 promising AI startups in a global collaboration program jointly conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and OpenAI.
Under this agreement, Polaris Office will provide office engine and AI technology support, collaborating in the field of document automation commercialization. Solutions such as web office, converter (document format conversion function), and filters owned by Polaris Office are expected to be used.
A Polaris Office representative stated, "We will support core AI technology that can formalize and automate unstructured documents with our self-developed software development kit (SDK)," adding, "This will be a good example of how generative AI can be directly applied to industry to increase work productivity."
The representative further emphasized, "We will continue to contribute to the development of the document AI solution market by collaborating with companies seeking to apply AI and LLM to their industries."
Meanwhile, Polaris Office was selected on the 15th as a joint research and development institution for a new national project by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Through this project, they will pursue the development of a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for cloud-based AI models and services.
