Update 2021.11.08

[Daily Impact reporter Choi Moon-jung] Startup investment firm Serpa Ventures announced on the 8th that it has invested in Weraser, a startup operating a logistics automation system, together with Company D. Weraser is currently operating 'WiseConvey', an automated shipping document input service.
WiseConvey is a platform that applies vision artificial intelligence (AI) to shipping document tasks. When files are uploaded, the program processes the information without the need for separate data entry. In other words, it aims to reduce simple tasks that previously required manual data entry by people, while also alleviating cost burdens.
Kim Hyun-jong, CEO of Weraser, expressed his ambition, saying, "Our goal is to create a metaverse platform for all logistics information, simplifying and automating unnecessary and cumbersome tasks."
Bang Seung-ae, head of Serpa Ventures, told Daily Impact, "The current shipping resource management system is very conservative and highly dependent on manual work. We are investing in Weraser's WiseConvey because we highly value its potential to reform this outdated system and expand into new businesses such as metaverse or fintech in the future."
Jeon Myung-hoon, CEO of Serpa Ventures, emphasized, "While large corporations have been promoting businesses to innovate logistics industry systems, we've realized that IT development alone has limitations and that actual on-site expertise in the logistics industry is crucial. Weraser is a startup that understands these industry matters very well, and we expect it to show high growth in the future."
Meanwhile, Serpa Ventures is a company that discovers and invests in startups with growth potential, like the 'Sherpa' guides who help climb the Himalayas. In the future, Serpa Ventures plans to review investments from various angles through joint investments with Company D and support the advancement of business models together.
